Obituary for Eva Underwood (Baxter)

Eva Underwood (Baxter)
Our precious mother, Eva Underwood, 80 of Van Buren was graced with God’s presence on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in her home. Mom was a member of Concord Baptist Church, The Red Hat Rockettes Chapter 80661, The Flat Rock Village Circle of Prayer, the Garden Gate Garden Club to name a few. Mom taught ceramics from their home on Rena Road for many years and travelled the 48 states with her friends that they called themselves “Mimi’s Ladies”. Throughout the years she played piano and taught Sunday school at some of the churches she attended. She lived her Christian faith with devotion and many will attest to that. If you met her, you knew her faith, love and joy. Her friends at Flat Rock Village referred to her as “Giggles”. She was a wiz at playing cards. She welcomed you into her home and always made sure you didn’t leave hungry. She will receive many welcomes, but the best will be from our daddy, the little boy who fell in love with her at the tender age of twelve. Mom is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Underwood; eldest daughter, Lynn Young and her precious parents, T.B. and Verna Baxter.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with cremation to follow under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
