Some fond memories of my dad

I remember at the young age of 7 my father, who was an artist, sat me down and showed me how to draw a face. He used a rubber ball and a magic marker to show me the geometry and sectioning of the face so as to get the face proportional.

I remember the toy refrigerator he built for my sister and me. Dad was good with his hands whether it be painting or working with wood.

I remember looking up into the audience at my band concerts and seeing him sitting in the bleachers next to my mother.

I remember the Christmas paintings he would do every year on our living room picture window

I had a cameo ring when I was about 12 and the picture became worn to the point I didn't wear it anymore because you couldn't tell what the picture was. Dad took the ring and removed the rest of the picture and painted a rose on it in great detail. I was thrilled because the picture he painted on the ring was so much prettier than the original picture.

I remember my first apartment in Fort Smith. I was 19 years old. I came home on my first Valentines day after having moved out of Mom and Dads house to find a heart shaped box of chocolates on my front door. I was both pleased,(to find chocolate) and disappointed (that it was from Dad and not some good looking single guy)

So many memories. Too many to list. I miss you Dad but I know I will see you again.
