Jerrell David Hern, 73, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in a local hospital. He was born on April 7, 1943 in Atkins, Arkansas to J.D. and Virginia (Harris) Hern. He was a Farmers Insurance Agent in Fort Smith and a member of First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren, AR.
Funeral services will be 10:00Am, Saturday, March 4, 2017 in First Assembly of God Church in Van Buren, AR with a private burial to follow under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife Geneva of the home; a daughter, Sherry Swaim and her husband Bryan of Fort Smith, AR; a son, Jonathan Hern of Chicago, IL; a sister, Pat Thoma and her husband Bill of Keller, Texas; six grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew Swaim, J.D., Evelyn and Emily Hern and Joey Fuscone and his wife Amelia.
Pallbearers are Mike and Don Henderson, Robert Bise, Chuck and Michael Bokros and Todd Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Farmers Insurance Agents.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Friday, March 3rd at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith, AR.
