George Lawrence Snapp, 83 passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 in a local nursing home. He was a thirty year retired chief master sergeant for the United States Air Force and served in both Vietnam and Korea. He also was worked for the US Postal Service in Kyle, Texas. His favorite pastime was gunsmithing. He was preceded in death by his parents George L. and Lois (Dickens) Snapp, and his wife Shirley Ann Snapp.

Memorial service will be held graveside at 2PM, Thursday, December 20, 2018 at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith with full military honors under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his daughter Ginger Simpson of Galveston, Texas; three sons Randy Snapp of Van Buren, Dennis Snapp of Yukon, Oklahoma and Richard Snapp of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister Dorothy Snapp of San Antonio, Texas; one brother Jim Snapp of San Antonio, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
