Obituary for William Andrew Cheyne

William Andrew  Cheyne
Reverend William Andrew Cheyne, Sr., 87 of Van Buren passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was an Associate Minister of First United Methodist Church of Fort Smith, Minister at First United Methodist Church in Booneville, First United Methodist Church in Ashdown, Arkansas, St. Paul United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Fort Smith District Superintendent, First United Methodist Church Siloam Springs, he served on the Board of Global Ministries and was a former Fort Smith District Superintendent. He retired in 1995; in 1996 he became a part time minister of pastoral care at First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith. He was a U.S. Veteran of the Air Force of the Korean War.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 16, 2018 in Roebuck Chapel at Fort Smith First United Methodist Church with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by his wife of sixty –six years, Earline (King) Cheyne of the home; two daughters, Debra Whitbeck of Holland, Michigan, Jane Cheyne of Springdale, Arkansas; three sons, William A. Cheyne, Jr. of Sedalia, Missouri, Ronald Cheyne of Edmond, Oklahoma and Dr. Stanley Cheyne of Farmville, Virginia; twelve grandchildren and seven great -grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandson, Cody, Steven, Kevin, Morgan, Sullivan and Garrison Cheyne.
