Obituary for Clarence Albert Domerese

Clarence Albert Domerese
Clarence Albert Domerese, 89, of Van Buren was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 26th, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Clarence and Eva (Elkins) Domerese; two sisters; and six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Earlene (Doss) Domerese; one daughter, Lesa Davis and husband, Mike; two sons, Rick Domerese and wife, Pam, and Gary Domerese and wife, Marla; one sister, Jolene Walls and husband Russell, who both stood with Clarence and Earlene on their wedding day; one brother-in-law, Don Doss, who was more like a son to him, and his wife, Betsy; eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.
Clarence was many things in this life: a devoted Christian, an avid gospel and bluegrass musician, a husband to his wife of nearly 66 years, a loving father and Papo, and a friend to many. The love that he had for his family and friends was rivaled only by the love and respect he received in return, and while he will be incredibly missed here on earth, we know he has found perfect peace and healing in his heavenly home.
On Sundays, Clarence wanted to celebrate the Lord with the Meno’s Bible Class in Greenwood, Arkansas. He brought his wonderful spirit and his dobro to each meeting, and has formed strong bonds of friendship with the others in the class. His devotion to the Lord was apparent in the way he lived each and every day of his life.
Other than faith and family, Clarence’s greatest passion was music. His family will forever cherish memories of his crying dobro, talking harmonica, and singing Christmas carols while he played along each year. Music even brought him to his beloved wife, Earlene, when he was 22 years old. He and his brother, George “Little George” Domerese, were playing shows as ‘The Domerese Brothers’ when Earlene saw him up on stage. She jokingly told her friend “I’m going to marry that man one day,” and little did she know, she was right. Looking back on their 65 years of marriage, it’s amazing to see the beautiful life and family that they have created together.
The celebration of Clarence’s life will be held at 2PM on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Ocker Memorial Chapel with the burial to follow at Gill Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral. Ocker Funeral Home is located at 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Domerese, Terry Domerese, Brent Domerese, Kevin Domerese, Elliott Bell, Greg Guess, Brian Antalik, and Mike Douglas. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Meno’s Bible Class.
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. – James 1:12
