Huey D. Clark, 82, of Fort Smith, AR passed away on Monday February 19, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 30, 1935 in Crossett, AR to Huey and Laura Ellen (Murphy) Clark who preceded him in death. Huey graduated from Crossett High School and Arkansas A&M College with a BSBA in Business Administration. Huey worked his entire career with Travelers Insurance Company (now Citigroup) and retired as Regional Manager of the upper Midwest Region. He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany with the signal corp.
Huey was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Fort Smith where he Council Chair and Board of Trustees Chair served at various times many leadership roles including the Finance Committee Chair, Administration. He also taught the Win-One Sunday School Class for 15 years.
He was an avid fisherman and reader and was well known at the Fort Smith Public Library.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. Michelle Morris officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Wanda Cravens Clark; one son, Brian G. Clark of Fort Smith; two sisters, Wanda Doyle of Fort Smith and Marjorie Harville and her husband Royce of Crossett; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Brad and Jeff Harville, Jim Welch, Terry Johnson, Chris Jones and Stephen West. Honorary pallbearers will be the Win-One Adult Sunday School Class.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home 4500 Jenny Lind Road, Fort Smith.
