Louis P. Stroud, Jr., 75, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 in a local hospital. He was born on November 5, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Louis and Rosemary (Newman) Stroud, Sr. Louis was a retired Fort Smith Fireman and the owner of Stroud’s Painting. He was a 32 degree mason and a member of the Victory #470 Masonic Lodge in Barling, AR, and a member of The Rock Church in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Stroud.
Funeral services are 1:00 PM, Friday, January 19, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas, burial to follow with Fort Smith Fire Department honors in Steep Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl Stroud of the home, one son, Bruce Stroud of Greenwood, AR; a brother, Robert Rutledge of Fort Smith, AR; six grandchildren, Brian Stroud, Jr., Bruce “B.J.” Stroud Jr. and his wife Bobbi of Frisco, TX, Stephen Stroud of Fort Smith, AR, Easton Stroud of Van Buren, AR, Brianna Barnett and her husband Josh of Greenwood, AR and Dakota Stroud of Rock Island, OK and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, Brian, Bruce, Stephen, Easton and Dakota Stroud and Josh Barnett.
The family will visit with friends from 4-6PM, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
