Valerie Jane Postier, 60, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 in a local hospital. She was born on March 25, 1957 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Billy Charles and Dorthula Allene (Jones) Quick. She was a homemaker and a member of First Lutheran Church of Fort Smith, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step mother Sharon Calvert. Valerie loved being with her friends, outdoors, with her animals and especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services are 10:00AM, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with cremation to follow. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

She is survived by her husband Dean of the home; a daughter, Michelle McMurray and her husband Clayton of Roland, OK; two sons, Cody Johnston and his wife Tara of Sitka, Alaska and Trent Johnston and his wife Renae of Alma, AR; two step brothers, Rick Pottorf of Ozawkie, KS and Ripp Russell and his wife Rhonda of Fort Smith, AR; a step sister, Kellie Cognetti and her husband Joseph of Senora, CA and seven grandchildren, Rylie, Chase, and Preslie Johnston, Kaleb and Alexxis Johnston and Olivia and Evangeline McMurray.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 5-7PM at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
