Buford Lee Keating, 83, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 in a local nursing home. He was born on April 9, 1934 in Portageville, Missouri to James and Mary Bell (Wrinkle) Keating. He was a retired pressman at the Southwest Times Record and a member of Cross Church on Oak Grove Road in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, a daughter, Sharon Perkins and a son Larry Keating.
Funeral services are 1:00PM,Friday, January 5, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas with burial to follow in Barling City Cemetery.
He is survived by two daughters, Teresa Yarbrough and her husband Ronnie and Paula Tuck and her husband Dennis all of Van Buren, AR; two sons, Shannon Simmons and his wife Brandie of Van Buren, AR and Shawn Adams of Fort Smith, AR; one brother, John Keating; three sisters, Pat Sorden, Linda Richardson and Bonnie Luker; three grandchildren, Jennifer Arnoldussen, Jimmy Jones and Tisha Parker; eight step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family will visit wife friends from 4-6PM on Thursday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith, AR.
