Obituary for Charles Leroy "Charlie" Belue

Charles Leroy "Charlie"  Belue
Charles “Charlie” Belue, 72, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 in a local hospital. He was born on February 5, 1945 in California to Argus and Beatrice (Brisco) Belue. He was a graduate of Northside High School and was on the Grizzly championship football team. Charlie was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart. Charlie was honored by the Arkansas Air National Guard by being allowed to fly in a F-4 Phantom fighter jet. He was a race car driver at Tri-State Speedway, a rodeo calf roper, a member of the Jenny Lind volunteer Fire Department and also served as the Constable for the Jenny Lind Community. He was preceded in death by his father, Argus Belue.
Funeral services are 11:00AM, Friday, December 15, 2017 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas with burial with honors at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Bea Hull of Fort Smith, AR; a brother, Meldon Belue and his wife Teresa of Fort Smith, AR; three sisters, Phyllis Hamilton and her husband Paul of Fort Smith, Della Fay Boyd of Fort Smith, AR and Lula May Woods and her husband Charlie of Jenny Lind, AR; one daughter, Crystal Gonzalez of Tahlequah, OK and three grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Thursday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR.
