Condolence: I learned with sorrow the passing of Darrell. When I think of Darrell I see, "a gentleman with heart and always full of mirth."
My thoughts are with Grey and the family during this time of ineffable loss.

Condolence: So sorry to hear about Darrell's passing. We've known him for many years! Just saw him last year and he has never changed his personality. Even through personal tragedys he managed to stay upbeat. Darrell grew up in Van Buren around my Dad and Uncles and I always enjoyed hearing the stories of those old days gone by. I'll miss his predictable humor and his wonderful wisdom and know his family will miss him greatly. My prayers are with you. I'm so sorry.

Condolence: I have known Darrell Johnson since 1974. I have always enjoyed his loud, humorous tales. He always had a story and shared openly with me when he had an issue to be dealt with and without an issue. He represented keenly the Bar of the past (of which I am a member), and I will miss him greatly

Condolence: Crawford County in general and Van Buren in particular have produced more than their share of memorable characters over the years. Darrell was one of the more colorful, to say the least. From the time that he lived across 10th Street from the golf course until the last time I saw him, he never failed to greet me with that big trademark smile, ask about my folks, and make me think being from VB made me a member of some sort of exclusive club (we shared the same railroad heritage). We will all miss him, but his memory will live on.
