Kenneth Matthews, 82 of Van Buren passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 in his home. He was owner/operator of Merit Steel in Fort Smith. He was a member of the Rena Road Baptist Church in Van Buren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah (Loftin) Matthews; two sons, Michael and Steven Matthews; two sisters, Betty Gay and Lora Lee Sumpter; two brothers, Dale and Melvin Matthews.

Family held memorial service will be at 12:00 (Noon) P.M. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Rena Road Baptist Church in Van Buren arrangement and cremation under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

He is survived by five grandchildren, Zachary Caleb Matthews and wife, Nata of Pocola, OK, Steven Ryan Matthews of Fort Smith, Michael Dylan Matthews, Carolina Marisol Matthews and Ericka Guadalupe Matthews all of Van Buren; one sister, Marie Harrison-Alexander; one daughter-in-law, Staci Elizabeth Matthews; one great grandchild, Sofia Marie Matthews of Van Buren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Kenneth Matthews.
