Obituary for Farris Whited

Farris  Whited
Farris Whited, Jr., of Van Buren went to meet the Lord and united with his heavenly family on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. He was 83 years old. He was born in Wynona, Oklahoma to Farris Sigmand Whited and Lillie Mae Kendrick Whited on September 11, 1933. He was one of ten children. Farris was a retired bridge superintendent for several Arkansas contractors and a faithful member of the Oliver Springs Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Farris and Lillie Whited, his wife Hazel Hartness Whited; one son Richard Farris Whited, two sisters, Bonnie Whited and Fern Robinson; four brothers, Clifford, Kenneth, Prentiss and Leon Whited.

Funeral services will be 2PM, Monday, May 22, 2017 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Farris is survived by his wife, Mary Jean (Bonham) Whited of the home; his daughter Lillie Ragsdale of Springfield, MO; his son, David Whited of Van Buren; Six grandchildren, Nicole Wardell, Damon Ivy, Darris Whited, Chase Whited Kandis Kidd and Billy Bolton; seven great-grandchildren Ashlyn, Cameron, Madison,Cailyn, Anastacia, Mason and Devon.; one stepdaughter LaJeana Justice of Van Buren; two stepsons, Todd Puckett of Jonesboro, Jeffery Puckett of Lake City, Arkansas and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Jeannie Curtis and husband Don of Fairview, Texas; two brothers, Frank Whited of Pawhuska, OK, Jerrel Whited and his wife Lee of Walla Walla, WA.

The family will visit relatives and friends Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 2-4 PM at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Darris Whited, Chase Whited, Michael Fisher, Zack Fisher, Jack Justice and Cody Justice.
