Obituary for Shirley Maxine Nolen (Cooper)

Shirley Maxine Nolen, 93, of Mountainburg, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in a local hospital. She was a homemaker, an ordained Elder in the Community of Christ Church and a big Mountainburg Dragon and Razorback Fan. She was born February 29, 1924 in Springfield, Missouri to the late James Thomas and Blanche (Hankins) Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nolen; one daughter, Pam Leonard; one grandson, Robert Nolen; two sisters, Anna Plum and Tinsie Cooper; four brothers, Bill, Brice, J.T. and Donnie Cooper.
Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Ocker Chapel of Alma with interment in U. S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Nowell and husband Ray of Beebe, AR and Debby Huffor Flatte and husband David of Mountainburg, AR; two sons, Chris Nolen and wife Monica of Fayetteville, AR and Jackie Campbell of Van Buren, AR; 13 grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren and a special caregiver, Jan Taylor.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Nolen, Brecken Clark, Brennan Pelts, Bart Leonard, Lonnie Campbell and Marcus Romero.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clevelan Huffor, Kymberlon Clark, Jackson Pelts, Adam Romero, Harvey Pense, Pete Sharp, Jerry Stearman, Steve Peters, Justin Wasko and John Salyer.
