Obituary for William John "Bill" Lenhardt

William John "Bill" Lenhardt
William “Bill” Lenhardt, 74, of Fort Smith, was born into eternal life on Friday October 7, 2016 after battling cancer. Bill was born July 11, 1942 in New England, North Dakota to John and Rose (Madler) Lenhardt. He joined the U.S. Army as a teenager and while stationed at Fort Chaffee he met and married his beloved wife, Judy Corrotto. After serving in the Army he built much of his career in Texas before moving back to Fort Smith to be closer to Judy’s parents. Bill retired from the Whirlpool Corporation. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Judy Corrotto and his parents.
Bill was a true Good Samaritan who never passed by someone in need of help, he gave freely of his time and material goods to others. He and his wife had a lifelong love of dogs and they considered their pets to be family. Bill enjoyed rebuilding cars, working on home improvement projects and watching western films. He was always willing to share a joke and will be sorely missed by all those whose life he touched.
He is survived by siblings, Albert Lenhardt of Windsor, CA; Rosalie Shannon and her husband “Shannon” of Puyallup, WA; Ellen Whitehead of Dayton, OR; Kenneth Lenhardt and his wife “Heidi” of Chico, CA; Richard “Dick” Lenhardt and his wife “Karen” of Lake Oswego, OR; in-laws, Cathy and Bob Lorenz of San Antonio, TX; many nieces and nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
