Obituary for Angela Avila (Mancilla)

Angela  Avila (Mancilla)
Angela Avila, 98, of Barling, Arkansas passed away on Sunday September 4, 2016 in a local hospital. She was born October 3, 1917 to Felipe and Romelia (Vallejo) Mancilla in Guatemala City, Central America. Angela was a homemaker, a mid-wife and a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista Church. Angela also attended the Christian Foundation Church, was the 2015 Volunteer of the Year for Project Compassion and volunteered at Covington Court Health and Rehabilitation. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Carlos Avila, Sr. and one daughter, Thelma Arrivillaga.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday September 10, 2016 at Primera Iglesia Baptist Church with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. Friday at Primera Iglesia Bautista Church 3215 North 23rd Street Fort Smith, AR with an evening service beginning at 8:00 P.M.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita Avila of Barling, AR and Albertina Blanco and her husband Herbert of Guatemala City; two sons, Jose Avila and his wife Rebecca of Fort Smith and Carlos Avila, Jr. of Barling; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be sons, grandsons and brothers of the church.
